Case Studies - Mt. Peace Cemetery, Lawnside, N.J.

Mount Peace Cemetery dates from the 19th century. Here lie the remains of African-Americans, many of them former slaves and their descendants. Lawnside became home to those who escaped slavery along the underground railroad during the Civil War . It is a proud, thriving community today, and burials still take place at Mt. Peace.

The cemetery is well-kept along the main road, and it appears to be a small, contained area which backs up to dense woods. Upon closer examination, however, it was discovered that many unkempt graves are scattered throughout the entire wooded area, until the grounds give way to a major highway.

We are rarely disappointed when we visit Mount Peace. It is usually very active for spirit activity.

Pictures and stories from Mount Peace:

We ventured out to Mt. Peace Cemetery with some of our trainees. We have been to this cemetery numerous times and just love it here. It's also pretty spooky, as far as cemeteries go, and we wanted to see if our trainees were tough enough to wander around the woods with us in the wee hours of the morning. We are happy to report that they all made it out (walking, not running).

Investigator Bove' took this picture showing a mist when she sensed a presence around Trainee Hecker. Investigator Bove' took this multiple orb shot for no other reason than to take a picture.
Investigator Ciafre took this orb shot. The arrows show the orbs, the rest of the "lights" are from the nearby highway Check out this awesome picture of ectoplasm mist! This was captured by Trainee Hirschmann.
Another mist picture captured by our new and very enthusiastic Trainee Hirschmann. Trainee Hirshmann was really on a roll this night! Here's another great shot!
Here's our motley crew getting a bite to eat after an active investigation. Seems we have a straggler on the back wall. Mist is emanating from the grave site.
