Case Studies - Burlington County Prison Museum - Mt. Holly, NJ - March 31, 2007 Well, it has been a little more than a year since we last investigated one of our favorite haunts (sorry-couldn't resist)! Besides loving the history of the jail, the spirits here never, ever disappoint us...and this trip was no exception. You can check out our previous visits by clicking the respective links for our first, second, and third visits. We took a few trainees out this night, to let them spread their proverbial wings and it looks like we got a good bunch! We didn't get much in the way of pictures this night, but that's okay by us...we would much rather hear what a building has to say to us! We captured some very cool EVP on this trip! We are pleased to present our results and hope you find them as provocative as we do! -Click on a photo for a larger image-

| EVP EVIDENCE
We find this EVP astonishing! In the basement of the prison, there is a hallway that was the site of a double murder in the 1920s. A non-violent offender who was being held until he "sobered up," suddenly turned violent and beat to death a prison guard and a trustee. This particular hallway "creeps out" many who venture into the basement. We purposely left audio recording equipment in this area, to see what we could get. At one point, Investigator Bove' and her team heard noises coming from the hall and moved in to investigate. In this clip, recorded by Investigator Bove', you will hear Investigator Tornatore ask, "Can you communicate with us?" He is answered by a male spirit with a Scottish or British accent, "I can't do that." Interestingly, the voice echoes with the same quality and Investigator Tornatore's, who we should mention was the only male present. Also, two recorders sat side-by-side, but only one picked up the response! Listen This clip is very cool! Recorded in the basement by Investigator Halpin, is what sounds like various voices calling off their names! "Waters, Mulford, Rutmeuler, Edgars..." A woman then loudly proclaims, "I shoulda washed plates." The prison cafeteria is in the basement, so this EVP is quite appropriate for the venue! Listen This EVP was recorded in the prison yard by Investigator Bove' at the same time her team was reviewing the above pictures. In this clip, you will hear guest investigator Marisa say, "That's weird," as she is looking at the pictures. Immediately following her comment is a spirit voice offering their own opinion saying, "Freaky, freaky." Listen As Investigator Bove's team moved across the yard to the gallows, you will hear guest investigator Marisa talking about some pictures. You won't have to listen too hard to hear the female who was apparently walking with them, say, "Come with me." Listen Recorded just outside the women's wing by Investigator Halpin is the happy-go-lucky fellow bidding everyone, "Nighty-night-night!" Listen There is a "double-wide" cell on the top floor of the prison known as the Common Room. It is where prisoners could meet with their lawyers. In the later years of the prison's operation, it was a space where several non-violent prisoners could be housed together. It was in this room that Investigator Bove' recorded a frustrated male spirit saying, "You're killing us. Why come here everyday?" Note how the voice echoes, just as ours do in the prison! Listen Investigator Halpin recorded this female voice who reminds, "Don't be late for school." It would not be such a strange phrase to capture in a prison where the warden's children lived in its early years. Also, children accompanied their mothers to prison, if there were no relatives that could look after them. Listen Now this clip is something you might expect to hear in a prison! Recorded by Investigator Halpin, is this loud female voice asking, "Where the judge?" Listen On the top floor of the prison, Investigator Tornatore recorded this male voice commenting, "It's dark coming into here." Listen In this recording by Investigator Orapello, you'll hear him say, "Well, we just got lights out," as the investigation was under way. You will then hear a maniacal little laugh! Listen While seemingly alone in the Death Row Cell, Investigator Bove' was adjusting her camera when a male voice asks, "What's that?" Listen VIDEO EVIDENCE This is an excellent video captured by Investigator Tornatore! It shows how spirit energy moves with purpose! This is not piece of dust flying on a wind current! Watch
