Case Studies - Private Residence - Lansdowne, PA - May 17, 2008

The resident of this lovely home called upon SJPR to see if we could figure out why he was experiencing so much paranormal activity.  The resident reports such incidents as being touched by unseen hands, appliances continually being unplugged, and the television randomly turning itself on and off.  The volume would also blast loudly!  It is a newer television set and the frequency of these episodes were erratic and random.

He has also seen many "shadow people" in the home, as have visitors who have come into the house.  Odors have also been detected, including marijuana and perfume.

The SJPR team concluded that much of the activity may stem from the resident's antique business.  We felt many of the spirits we encountered were attached to the objects he brings into the house.  We also found that a couple of spirits were annoyed with the homeowner, even telling him to "shut up!"  These EVP can be heard below in the audio section.

A sampling of our evidence follows...

Feeling a strong presence in the dining room, Investigator K. Groff captured this orb photo at the same time she recorded the voice of a female spirit.

Immediately upon descending the basement stairs, Investigator Pietrzak felt the strong presence of a male spirit.  She turned and took this picture showing a large, dense orb in motion.

While in the master bedroom, Investigator Bove' sensed the presence of a young girl, who she felt was shy and stayed much of the time in the hallway.  It was during this impression that she captured this orb in the hall, just beyond the doorway.

Still on the second floor of the house, the team was sensing the same little girl.  Investigator Bove' caught this large orb on the TV during this time.
EVP EVIDENCE

SJPR investigators always record many hours of audio during investigations, using multiple digital recorders; we also carefully review the audio from our video cameras.  We then spend three times the amount of time reviewing the audio than we did in collecting it!  On this trip, we came away with no less than 56 EVP!

The Living Room

In this clip, recorded by Investigator Howgate, you'll hear the resident talking, in part, about a recurring dream he has.  He says, "...no, it looks evil all the time."  A male spirit then says, "Shhh.  Shut up."  This EVP was also picked up on Investigator Bove's recorder, but we offer Howgate's version here.   Listen

While Investigator Bove's team was positioned in the living room.  In this clip, you'll hear the homeowner speaking, in part, about the age of the home.  Just after he speaks, an older female spirit admonishes him, saying, "Do shut up, Kevin."  It should be noted that the homeowner's first name is "Kevin."  She is loud and clear!   Listen

The homeowner had been asked if he just had paranormal experiences in his current home or if he had always had experiences.  As he explains that he has had past encounters, this female spirit sarcastically chimes in, saying, “Yeah, just a bit.”  This was recorded by Investigator Bove'.   Listen

Just after the homeowner speaks again, Investigator Bove' again records a spirit who seems to be targeting the resident.  Although investigators are talking in this clip, you can clearly hear the loud male voice spatting, "Can I get back, you douche?"   Listen

The homeowner continued to tell the team about paranormal experiences he has had.  In this clip, by Investigator Bove', you'll hear the homeowner saying that a spider in his dream "looked so real."  His comment is followed by a loud male spirit asking, "What's that mean?"  It should be noted that the homeowner was the only male present during the investigation.   Listen

This is a strange EVP captured by Investigator K. Groff.  You'll hear what sounds like the sharp bark of a large dog and then the voice of Investigator S. Groff as she is voicing aloud the imagery she is receiving.  The fascinating fact is - the resident doesn't have any animals.   Listen

A little while later, while still in the living room, Investigator K. Groff recorded what sounds like the rattling of a dog collar with tags.  There is also what sounds like a man sighing in the audio.  No one on her team was speaking at this time.   Listen

Investigator S. Groff was getting some imagery of the team being watched when this friendly male spirit queries, "What up, buddy?"  He is crystal clear!   Listen

While sitting quietly on the couch, Investigator S. Groff recorded this loud female voice saying, "You are tripped, over, finished."   Listen

The Dining Room

While in the dining room, Investigator K. Groff got the inexplicable urge to say aloud, “OK. George.”  Her comment is followed by a strange little giggle, of sorts.  You’ll then hear Groff say, “I don’t know why I just said that.”   Listen

Investigator Bove' was engaged in conversation with the homeowner when Investigator Pietrzak recorded this negative male spirit.  When Bove' asked the homeowner a question, before he had the chance to answer, the male spirit says, "No, piss off."  A second male spirit also said a bad word in this clip, but we have edited that out.   Listen

During a conversation with the homeowner about his seeing a black widow spider in a dream, Investigator Pietrzak recorded two male voices.  The first says, “I can see,” followed by the second stating loudly and emphatically, “She said I’m seen.”   Listen

The Master Bedroom

Clearly residual energy, Investigator K. Groff recorded this voice of a young adolescent yelling, "Papa, the trap's hot!"  This one is loud and clear!   Listen

This female voice clearly says, “I’m moving,” a few seconds before Investigator Howgate announced that she was going to move into the guest bedroom.  Could that be why she had the urge to move to the other room?   Listen

Investigator Pietrzak had been in another part of the second floor by herself and decided to rejoin her team in the master bedroom.  As she entered the room, this deep male voice says, "Watch the girls."  Although it ranks high on the "creep factor scale," perhaps he was just looking out for her all-female team!   Listen

The Hallway

Investigator S. Groff was sitting in the second floor hallway when she recorded this clear exchange between a man and a woman.  The woman asks, "Here, did you want some toppings?”  The man half-heartedly replies, “Yes, please.”  This is clearly residual energy, but also very clear!   Listen

The Guest Bedroom

Investigator Howgate captured this woman singing, just after she stated that she often gets EVP of spirits singing.  She sounds to be singing, “We’re all coming through, go out with me!”   Listen

While in the guest bedroom alone, Investigator Pietrzak recorded this male voice saying, "I am a senator."  Having heard the voice, you'll then hear Pietrzak ask, "Who was that?"  The voice is small, but very clear.  It has been amplified to be heard more clearly.   Listen

The Basement

Investigator S. Groff and her team were exploring the basement and came across a small bathroom.  The homeowner had told us not to use this bathroom because it was in disarray and hadn't been used or cleaned in a while.  It was in this bathroom that Groff recorded this clear, sing-song female voice saying, "Couldn't have come so clean!"   Listen

Investigator Bove's team had gotten the impression of a young couple in the basement.  They were in love and had a child, but their families spurned them because of their relationship.  It is possible they were first cousins and their union was looked upon as unnatural.  While the team was getting this imagery, Bove' recorded this young woman offering, "We're lovers in privilege."   Listen

Investigator Bove's team also encountered a woman in the basement who they felt was abused by her husband.  Bove's recorder picked up this woman stating, "They won't let him hit me."   Listen

Investigator Bove's team was talking about the spirits wanting to talk to us and that they were getting comfortable with their presence.  It was at this time Bove' recorded this female voice stating, “They don’t think you had,” followed by a second female saying, "No."  You’ll then hear Bove' ask her fellow investigators if they had whispered, as she had audibly heard this voice.  They both indicated they had not whispered.   Listen

This soulful female voice was captured by Investigator Howgate in the basement.  The young woman demands, “Let him out,” though her voice is laced more with fear than conviction.   Listen

Investigator Howgate was in the basement with her team when Investigator Bove' announced that it was time for the teams to rotate their positions.  It was at this time she recorded this male spirit saying, "That helps."  It should be noted that there were no men on Howgate's team this night.  Listen

VIDEO EVIDENCE

Investigator Bove' was our videographer of the evening.  She offers the following clips.

In this clip, an orb seems to appear from a jacket that is hanging on the back of a dining room chair.  Bove' was able to track it as it flew across the dining room towards Investigator Pietrzak.   Watch

Sensing a presence near the basement steps, a bright orb was captured briefly flying from the doorway into the kitchen.   Watch
